Becki's Olive Salsa

Becki's Olive Salsas

From Becki, owner and creator of Becki's Mediterranean Olive Salsa:

Thank you for your interest in my Olive Salsas. My family, along with some friends, who also happen to be employees, work diligently to bring you products unique in quality and taste.

I love hearing that you serve Becki's salsas at your parties, make it a staple 'at the lake', share it in the dorm, and are creative in using it to create new dishes. Please allow me this opportunity to tell you a little about myself, for you are an important part of my life.

I'm a very ordinary woman. I am the mother of two fantastic sons. I love music and beauty. I find joy in the comforting and the creative things of life: cooking a beautiful meal for friends, quilting, singing and gardening. When I graduated with a music therapy degree more than a few years ago, I didn't imagine a future in food creation, production and sales. I have always loved cooking and experimenting with food, but I simply would never have been able to dream of this total change of course. It is often in the pain of life, not the comforts, that change is birthed. There were career changes that weren't of my choosing. They forced versatility, brought growth and resiliency, and eventually led to the creation of this business.

By far, however, the most severe pain was felt during the time I found myself unemployed and helping my son recover from a serious car accident his senior year in high school. In a heartbeat, my strong, athletic son was paralyzed from the chest down This is when I started exploring new and different things I could do to help support my family.

This unabashed 'foodie' who often made food gifts for friends, decided to take the suggestion of a friend and try to sell my Olive Salsa at the local farmer's market. I was unsure if I could even sell a dozen, but the first day I sold 87 containers in two hours and had to go home early! The rest, as they say, is history, and that history is still in the making...

Today, my two sons, and often my retired parents are involved in the business, working in day to day production and expanding sales into new venues.
