Brown 1 lb. of stew meat in 1 tbsp. olive oil (15 minutes). Add 3 cups hot water, 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/8 tsp. black pepper. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to low and simmer, covered (2 to 2 1/2 hours) over low heat. Stir in bag of stewed vegetables from the Produce Department. Simmer, covered, 3 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Thoroughly combine 1/2 cup cold water and 2 tbsp. flour; gradually stir into beef mixture. Bring to a boil, stirring until thickened.
