As a chef-instructor, blogger, cookbook author and private chef, I am constantly asked personal questions about what I cook at home, what's in my fridge, what I like to eat, what I hate to eat, etc., etc. In this month's "Ask Chef Rachael," I answer some of those pesky questions as a way of introducing myself to you. Q. What is your favorite food?
A.
Whatever I'm eating at the time I'm asked. But, even though it shames me as a chef to admit this, I do really love peanut butter – straight from the jar.

Q. What do you most like to cook?
A.
Right now I'm really into sauces, dressings, jams, aiolis – basically stuff that goes on other stuff.

Q. What is your favorite cookbook?
A.
The Classic Cookbook by Christopher Kimball. There's not one photograph in it.

Q. What do you most like to do when you're not in the kitchen?
A.
I read about food, think about food, dream about food, take pictures of food, talk about food and write about food, but I think that technically counts as work, so I'll say shop (but especially for food).

Q. If you weren't doing this, what would you be doing?
A. Eating my way through Europe with my husband.
