It's Fresh Mozzarella Time Again
As the weather gets warmer, our thoughts turn to fresh and lighter fare. One of our favorite summer-time foods is Kowalski’s Fresh Mozzarella, made by our Cheese Specialists.
The curd used to stretch Kowalski’s Fresh Mozzarella is made from milk produced without any growth hormones (rBST and rBGH). The cheese curd is 100% natural, certified kosher and free of additives, preservatives, trans fats or gluten. Many conventional mozzarella producers whiten their milk using a small amount of the whitening agent titanium dioxide, a chemical also used in white paint. Our curd is free of any artificial colors or coloring agents. It will keep up to five days submerged in salt water brine in an air tight container in the refrigerator. Full Story.
Dad's Day... We Can Help Make It Special Its dad’s turn to sit back and relax as we celebrate fatherhood and thank our dads for all they have done for us through the years.
In the United States, the first modern Father’s Day was held on July 5, 1908, in Fairmont, West Virginia. It was originally celebrated as a church service to recognize fathers after a deadly mine explosion in a nearby town took the lives of 361 men. Another possible inspiration for the service was Mother’s Day, which had recently been celebrated for the first time in Grafton, West Virginia, a town about 15 miles away. In 1966, President Lyndon Johnson made Father’s Day a holiday to be celebrated on the third Sunday of June which is the officially recognized date. Full Story.
