In the United States, Mothers’ Day was originally conceived by social activist Julia Ward Howe during the American Civil War, with a call to unite women against war. The Salmon Are Running
It’s that time of year again when fresh salmon from the Copper River in Alaska begins to arrive in our markets. It is one of our most highly-anticipated products, and the news of its arrival spreads quickly. We have established a great working relationship over the past few years with Mike Poole and Michelle LaFriniere who fish in Prince William Sound and the Copper River. Mike and Michelle direct market their catch, which allows them to catch and process the salmon immediately on board their boat and send it to Kowalski’s the next day. What this means for our customers is Copper River Salmon that is five to seven days fresher than anywhere else, guaranteed. Full Story.
