Asti and Fresh Strawberries

Very Easy
Serves 6
  • 1/2 cup Baker's Sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 1/2 cups hulled, chopped strawberries
  • 6 lemon slices
  • - ice cubes
  • 1 (750 ml) bottle Asti Spumante, chilled

In small saucepan, combine sugar and water over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Bring to a boil over high heat; remove from heat and cool.

To Serve: Divide strawberries among each of 6 (8 oz.) glasses; add 1 tbsp. syrup to each and mash berries with a wooden spoon. Place lemon slice over berries; mash to release flavor. Add ice cubes to glasses; top off with Asti.
