Asti and Fresh Strawberries
- 1/2 cup Baker's Sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 1/2 cups hulled, chopped strawberries
- 6 lemon slices
- - ice cubes
- 1 (750 ml) bottle Asti Spumante, chilled
In small saucepan, combine sugar and water over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Bring to a boil over high heat; remove from heat and cool.
To Serve: Divide strawberries among each of 6 (8 oz.) glasses; add 1 tbsp. syrup to each and mash berries with a wooden spoon. Place lemon slice over berries; mash to release flavor. Add ice cubes to glasses; top off with Asti.
