For the past 12 years, Woodbury singer and pianist Phil Thompson has recruited his fellow Minnesota musicians to contribute a song or two to his annual charity CD, A Minnesota Holiday. Sales from the 2021 version of the CD as well as iTunes downloads will support Second Harvest Heartland. To date, the "Minnesota Holiday" series has raised more than $500,000 for local nonprofits.
Musicians featured on this year's CD include Dan Wilson (from the rock band Semisonic), Brian Setzer (of the rockabilly group Stray Cats) and R&B artist SisQó (who moved to Maple Grove in 2015). The rest of the lineup includes songs from the project organizer Phil Thompson, the New Standards, Kat Perkins, Keri Noble, The Blenders, Haley, Jeremy Messersmith, Mick Sterling and Ben Utecht, Chris Rupp, Simple Gifts, Cade Bittner and Jennifer Grimm.
CDs are on sale at all 11 Kowalski's Markets locations starting on November 15. CDs have sold out over the past 12 years, so don't delay in getting your copy!
