Ginger Simple Syrup

Ingredients: 

1 cup sugar

1 cup water

4 oz. fresh ginger, peeled, thinly sliced

Instructions: 

Bring the sugar and water to a boil in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, stirring to dissolve sugar. Add ginger; bring to a simmer. Remove from heat; let steep 30 min. Strain syrup; discard ginger. Store covered in the refrigerator.

Note: Use this simple syrup to sweeten lemonade, iced or hot tea, coffee or hot chocolate, or use it to make cocktails such as our Ginger Margarita (click here for recipe) or Ginger Martini (click here for recipe).
