Cinnamon Sugar Cookies

Makes 48

1 ¾ cups sugar, divided

1 tbsp. Kowalski's Vietnamese Cinnamon

1/2 cup shortening

1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature

2 eggs

2 ¾ cups flour

2 tsp. cream of tartar

1 tsp. baking soda

1/4 tsp. salt


In a small bowl, combine 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon; set aside. In a large mixer bowl, beat remaining sugar, shortening, butter and eggs with an electric mixer on medium speed. Stir in remaining ingredients. Shape dough into 1 ¼" balls; roll in cinnamon sugar. Place 2" apart on parchment-lined baking sheets. Bake in a preheated 400° oven until centers are almost set (about 10 min.). Cool completely on wire racks.
