General Tso's Sauce

Makes about 4 cups

Ingredients

2 cups chicken broth
½ cup plus 2 tsp. low-sodium tamari
6 tbsp. plus 2 tsp. rice vinegar
6 tbsp. sugar
6 tbsp. brown sugar
2 tbsp. Kowalski's Classic Ketchup
2 tbsp. molasses
2 tbsp. Kowalski's Pure Honey
1 tsp. ginger purée
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. red miso paste
½ tsp. plus ¼ tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
¼ tsp. freshly ground Kowalski's Black Peppercorns
¼ tsp. toasted sesame oil
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 cup water

Directions
  1. In a small saucepan, combine first 14 ingredients (through sesame oil); whisk to combine.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, add cornstarch and water; whisk to combine.
  3. Add cornstarch mixture to the pan. Heat over medium-high heat until bubbling and mixture is glossy and thickened (3-5 min.).
  4. Use immediately or store in the refrigerator, covered, for up to 1 week.
