Thelma's Treats

Thelma's Treats

Thelma's was inspired by a real grandma and her beloved Snickerdoodle recipe. In 2012, Dereck Lewis and his mom, Lana, began selling handmade ice cream sandwiches at the Des Moines Downtown Farmers' Market, turning a treasured family recipe into what has become a nationally recognized premium ice cream sandwich brand. Today, Thelma's is still proudly headquartered in Des Moines, where every ice cream sandwich is made. While Thelma's products can now be found in thousands of grocery stores across the country, the company's mission remains the same: to create moments of joy by making an ice cream sandwich that feels just a little more special.

Unlike traditional ice cream sandwiches, Thelma's starts with soft, bakery-style cookies that stay chewy straight from the freezer, paired with rich, premium ice cream for a nostalgic treat that tastes homemade. From its signature Snickerdoodle to creative flavors like Double Chocolate Mint, S'mores, Caramel Latte and Strawberry Sugar, every sandwich is crafted with the same care and family spirit that inspired the very first recipe.
