In 2024, the Minnesota Grocers Association named Kowalski's Grocer of the Year, and in 2020, Food & Wine magazine named Kowalski's one of the 20 Best Regional Supermarket Chains of All Time. We've been a multiple-time winner of Progressive Grocer's Outstanding Independent Retailer and Top Women in Grocery awards as well as Minnesota Grown's Retailer of the Year.
In addition, Kowalski's was the first-ever multilocation retailer to be Certified Humane by Humane Farm Animal Care and the first-ever to achieve Leader Status in the Where Food Comes From Smart Catch seafood sustainability program.
