Weekly Features

Fiscalini Farmstead Craft Beer Cheddar

Fiscalini Farmstead’s Craft Beer Cheddar is made by infusing Imperial Stout Ale into their Farmhouse Cheddar. They soak the cheese curds in beer during the make process to fully infuse every bite of cheese. Imperial Stout traditionally has a combination of chocolate, coffee and roasted malt flavors that give this cheddar an assertive bitterness from the hops and a bold richness from the dark malts.

Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Co. Bay Blue

Point Reyes Bay Blue is inspired by the sheer natural beauty of the Northern California coastal climate and locale. This award-winning cheese is a rustic-style blue with a natural rind. It is known for its mellow flavor and sweet, salted caramel finish. Try this cheese with a drizzle of honey or pair it with dark chocolate for a real treat!

Marin French Cheese Petite Breakfast Brie

4 oz. Marin French Cheese has been making Petite Breakfast since 1865. It follows the same cheesemaking process as their other Bries but skips the aging room, making it a fresh Brie. Sold fresh and young, it has a tangy flavor and a slightly spongy texture reminiscent of creamy cheese curds. This texture makes it versatile for hot and cold usages alike, from salads to pastries.

About Our Excelsior Market

Kowalski's Excelsior Market is located in the previous home of Mason Motors on the corner of Water and Oak streets, just blocks from Lake Minnetonka's Excelsior Bay. With just 18,000 square feet of retail space, it's smaller than the typical Kowalski's store, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in myriad ways. The popular Excelsior store offers all the hallmarks of a Kowalski's, including a Wine & Spirits shop, Starbucks, fresh sushi, and indoor and outdoor seating. When it opened, it was also the one and only Kowalski's to feature a bakery service counter and to provide exclusively full-service meats.

Excelsior is a strong, vibrant, caring community located only 20 minutes from downtown Minneapolis on the shores of Lake Minnetonka. Besides Kowalski's, the small downtown boasts a number of antique and specialty shops and restaurants, giving this very special community a unique feel of old-meets-new.

With a population of just about 2,400, Excelsior explodes with activity in the summer. Bicyclists, boaters, swimmers and picnickers are among the thousands of visitors to Excelsior each year, many of whom come for the city's famed Art in the Park, Fourth of July festivities and Apple Days.
