Cardinal Kitchen

Saint Paul resident Martha Glass founded Cardinal Kitchen to share her love of food and celebrate her Scandinavian heritage. Inspired by the Scandinavian tradition of knäckebröd, a crisp, hearty bread enjoyed for centuries, Martha embraced a modern twist on the classic. In Scandinavia today, grain-free versions made entirely with seeds, known as fröknäcke, have become popular for their wholesome ingredients and nutrient density.

Handcrafting each batch locally, Martha combines five stellar seeds – pumpkin, sunflower, flax, sesame and chia – with extra virgin olive oil, organic cornstarch and a touch of salt. The result is a naturally gluten-free, nut-free crisp with a satisfying snap.
Pair them with soup or salad, top them with cheese and charcuterie, or enjoy them as a simple snack with a cup of tea or a glass of wine.

Find Cardinal Kitchen Handcrafted Seed Crisps in the Bakery Department of your nearest Kowalski's location. Selection and availability vary by market.
