Spring Cleanup: Paper Shredding Events at Kowalski's
Did you know your home paper shredding isn't recyclable through all residential recycling programs?
Back by popular demand, Kowalski's and Great River Greening are teaming up with Shred Right, a locally owned document destruction company, to help you safely shred and recycle your sensitive paper waste and keep it out of landfills.
Paper Shredding Events
For a $15-per-bag donation to Great River Greening, you can participate in our secure shredding events at your local Kowalski's. With each $15 donation, you'll receive a sticker, valid for one bag of shredding. Stickers may be pre-purchased at any market now through April 26, or you can purchase the number of stickers you need when you bring in your bags.
To prepare your documents for shredding, simply fill a paper bag with the personal or confidential papers you'd like to shred, such as old tax filings, bills, medical records, receipts and other sensitive papers. Bring the filled bag to any of the following shredding events, held in the parking lots of these Kowalski's locations from 10-11 a.m.:
- Tuesday, April 21 – Woodbury
- Thursday, April 23 – Edina
- Friday, April 24 – White Bear Lake
Shred Right will shred documents on-site and haul them away for off-site recycling.
Paper Clips and Staples are okay. No batteries, 3-ring binders, binder clips, hanging file folders or plastics.
Alternatively, you can drop off your filled paper bags in-store at our Excelsior, Eden Prairie, Grand Avenue, Lyndale Avenue, Oak Park Heights, Parkview, Shoreview and Uptown Markets from April 11 to 26 during regular business hours. Just place a sticker on your bag and drop it in the specially labeled, secured, locked receptacles near the front of the store.
