Mint Julep

8 fresh mint leaves, plus a mint sprig for garnish
1 ½ tsp. Kowalski's Simple Syrup
2 oz. bourbon
- crushed ice
1-2 drops Angostura Aromatic Bitters, to taste
  1. In a julep cup or rocks glass, lightly muddle mint leaves with simple syrup.
  2. Add bourbon; pack glass tightly with crushed ice.
  3. Stir until cup is frosted on the outside.
  4. Add bitters; top with more crushed ice to form an ice dome.
  5. Garnish with mint.
