Rustic Italian Supper

4 eggs
4 slices Kowalski's Roasted Garlic Bread (from the Artisan Bread Table), sliced 1" thick
24 oz. jar Kowalski's Classic Marinara Pasta Sauce, warmed thoroughly
4 Kowalski's Meatballs (find them in the Deli Department), heated thoroughly in the microwave
¾ cup fresh ricotta cheese
- garnishes, to taste: Kowalski's Extra Virgin Olive Oil, freshly grated Kowalski's Parmesan Cheese, kosher salt, freshly ground Kowalski's Black Peppercorns, fresh basil leaves
Order Groceries
  1. Preheat oven to 325°.
  2. In a large nonstick skillet, cook eggs sunny-side-up to desired doneness. Meanwhile, toast bread in a single layer in preheated oven until dark golden-brown on the edges but still tender inside (10-15 min.).
  3. Divide about ¾ of the warm sauce between 4 shallow dishes; place 1 slice of toast on top of sauce in each bowl.
  4. Add a meatball to each bowl; top toast with a scoop of ricotta and a warm, cooked egg.
  5. Top egg with more sauce; garnish to taste.


Tasty Tip:

  • Substitute fried or poached eggs, if desired.
